How to write a novel in 100 days or less Day 3

How to write a novel in 100 days or less Day 3: "Matisse advised his students, If you want to be a painter, cut out your tongue. The time has come to stop merely talking about writing your novel. Get started planning it now."

This I like. This is good. It's a motivational kick in the pants. On Day 2 he mentions that writing is what writers do, and that's where my biggest problem has been. To be a writer one must write. To be a runner, you must run. To be a ball player, you must play.

When I think about all the time that I have wasted that could have been spent writing. A writer is a craftsman that learns his craft through doing. I've thought a mean game about writing as far as that goes, but I've come up short on doing. Just do it says Nike, and they are very close to the truth.
